Facade insulation in Luxembourg

From our base in Esch-sur-Alzette, our teams insulate and renovate the facades of houses and residential buildings across southern Luxembourg: rock wool, render and cladding, from scaffolding to final handover.

Why insulate from the outside

A warmer home, a brand-new facade

External wall insulation (EWI) wraps your home in a continuous protective layer. It is the most effective solution for an existing house, and it gives the facade a fresh new look at the same time.

Lower heating bills

Uninsulated walls let a good share of your heat escape. With continuous insulation, it stays inside.

No more thermal bridges

The insulation runs in front of floor slabs and internal walls: no more cold walls, condensation or mould in the corners.

No floor space lost

All the work happens outside. Your rooms stay untouched and you can live at home throughout the project.

Cooler in summer

Walls shielded from the sun stay cool, so the house heats up far less during heatwaves.

A brand-new facade

New render, a new colour, stone or timber cladding: insulating is also a chance to change the whole look of your house.

A property that gains value

Better energy performance reassures buyers and banks when the time comes to sell.

Our facade services

Everything for your facade, with the same team

External wall insulation

Base insulation first, then rock wool boards bonded and mechanically fixed, reinforcing mesh and a finishing render. A non-combustible, durable and vapour-permeable solution.

Render and facade renovation

Crack repairs, roughcast, scraped or hand-floated render, in the colour of your choice.

Cladding and plinths

Stone cladding, anthracite panels or timber cladding to highlight a plinth, an entrance or part of the building.

Windows and junctions

Windows and front door replaced during the works, with airtight and watertight junctions around every opening.

Our approach

How your project works

  1. Free survey

We come and look at the facade, check the condition of the walls and take measurements. You tell us what you would like to change.

  2. Detailed quote

Every item is priced: scaffolding, insulation and thickness, render, finishes. We also explain the steps for the Klimabonus.

  3. Scaffolding and protection

We put up the scaffolding and protect windows, floors and garden. The site stays clean from start to finish.

  4. Insulation

A row of special base insulation at the bottom, then rock wool all the way up, with neat junctions around windows and sills.

  5. Render and finishes

Reinforced base coat, finishing render in the colour you have chosen, then cladding, sills and trims.

  6. Handover

We walk round the facade with you before taking down the scaffolding. Nothing is overlooked.

30 cm of facade insulation

The project explained step by step: 30 cm of rock wool on a timber-frame house, with sealed junctions around the windows, through to hand-floated Weber render and stone cladding.

They trusted us with their facade

Bati-Lux took care of renovating my house, from converting the loft into a master suite to building an extension and restoring the facade… They also demolished the chimneys we had, from the attic down to the cellar, to free up space.

My project included facade work (rock wool insulation on part of the house, facade repairs on the rest), replacing the patio doors and repairing a leaking balcony. As the house is a listed building, certain materials and methods had to be respected.

Frequently asked questions

Facade insulation: your questions

How thick should facade insulation be in Luxembourg?

It depends on the existing wall and the performance you are aiming for. On one of our recent projects, we fitted 30 cm of rock wool. During the free survey, we recommend the right thickness for your house.

How long does facade insulation take?

For a detached house, allow a few weeks in general between putting up the scaffolding and handover, depending on the surface area, the weather and the finishes chosen. The exact timeframe is stated in the quote.

Can we stay in the house during the works?

Yes. External wall insulation is carried out entirely outside: you carry on living at home as normal, with no loss of living space.

Is there funding available to insulate my facade?

Yes, the Luxembourg government supports energy renovation through the Klimabonus programme. Eligibility depends on your home and your project: we explain the steps and provide the technical documents you need.

Is the quote free?

Yes, for homeowners within 50 km of our offices: we come and look at the facade, take measurements and give you a detailed quote, with no obligation.
