How your project works
Free survey
We measure the height under the ridge, check the roof structure and the floor, and discuss with you how the future rooms will be used.
Plan and detailed quote
A simple layout of the rooms and an itemised quote: insulation, partitions, openings, electrics, floors, finishes.
Preparation
Removing old fittings, repairing the floor and the gable wall if needed. Materials go up from the outside when the staircase is too narrow.
Insulation and partitions
Fitting the insulation and vapour barrier, building the partitions and ceilings, running the electrical conduits.
Finishes
Taping and jointing, painting, laying the floors, fitting spotlights and doors. Original beams are showcased if you wish.
Handover
We walk through the new rooms with you. You can move in.

Loft conversion: your questions
Can my loft be converted?
It all depends on the height under the ridge, the type of roof structure and access. With trussed rafters, the roof structure may need to be modified. We check this for free on site.
Do I need permission?
Creating living space or opening up the roof often requires permission from the local council. We tell you what to plan for during the survey.
Can we keep the exposed beams?
Yes, they are often what gives a loft its charm. We clean them, stain them and insulate around them.
Can you put a bathroom in the loft?
Yes, we have done it before: moisture-resistant boards, shower, bath under a roof window, wall-hung WC.
Is the quote free?
Yes, for homeowners within 50 km of our offices: we come and look at the loft and give you a detailed quote, with no obligation.
